UKF7003AXX

The UKF7003AXX PuriClean water filter was designed for Maytag and Jenn-Air side by side refrigerators that are equipped with a water filter indicator light (it comes on when the refrigerator says it's time for a filter change- supposedly after 416 gallons have passed through the filter). This filter replaces the UKF7002AXX and the UKF7003AXX filters. Maytag has replaced the lesser capacity filter with the larger one and given it a new number.

It reduces chlorine taste and odor, particulate, lead, cyst and turbidity reduction.

Maytag purchased Amana in 2001. Now filters for Maytag and Amana refrigerators come from the same place. They are still very different though. The UKF7003AXX, UKF8001AXX and the 12527304 (the most popular filters from either camp) are very easy to distinguish.

This Amana water filter (12527304) cartridge is the replacement for part numbers 12388401, 12527305 and 9014. It is located in the back of the refrigerator compartment and removes most chlorine, lead, odor and taste. This filter is the correct replacement for Sears/Kenmore refrigerators where the model number begins wiht "596".

UKF8001AXX

Maytag changed the part number of this Amana Clean 'n Clear filter (it used to be part # 12589208 or WF-50). Everything else about the filter is the same.
